1. When is it the best time to schedule my move?
  We advise that you schedule your move at least 30 days prior to your moving date. If you are able to be flexible with your moving date, schedule your move at anytime other than school holidays and the middle, last and the beginning of the month. The reason for this is because there is a great demand on equipment and personnel.

2. Are my belongings insured against lost and damage?
  Your belongings should be insured during the move against any unforeseen circumstances. Most moving companies liability rate is .60 cents per pound per article. But you can purchase additional insurance.

3. What can I do to keep my moving costs down?
  If you are flexible with your move date, most moving companies have a sliding scale of prices that reflect supply and demand. Another way you can help to keep your moving costs down is to make sure that all your goods are well packed, that all furniture is dismantled and that all pathways are clear.

4. How is the cost of my move determined?
  Estimates for local moves are based on an hourly rate, which includes drive time from company’s home base to your home and drive time from your new home back to company base.

5. How accurate will my moving estimate be?
  Most moving company’s estimates are non binding. To ensure that your move comes in on-target with your estimate is to offer as much information as possible at the time when the estimate is being given.

6. Will you move my jewelry and valuables?
  We can move your extraordinary value items but, we personally recommend that you carry all irreplaceable items and expensive articles with you. If you would like for us to move your extraordinary value items, we will require you to complete and sign a high value inventory form.

7. What should I not pack?
  Flammable or explosive items should not be packed with your household goods. Go to “Do Not Ship List”, for a list of these items.

8. Can you transport my pets/plants?
  We do not transport pets. It is recommended that pets and plants travel with you, in your vehicle.

9. Do you sell packing materials?
  Yes. We provide everything you need for full-service packing and self-service packing. We provide everything from boxes to tape. Go to “ Packing Supplies ”, for your packing needs.

10. Do you provide cleaning services?
  Yes. We could provide cleaning services for your house of origin and your new home.

11. Should I tip the movers?
  Moving is a service industry. While there is not a set amount of gratuity expected by movers as there is by servers in a restaurant. If you feel that the job is done efficiently and effectively, you should feel free to tip your movers accordingly.

12. Can the kids “hang out” and watch the move?
  We recognize that children are fascinated by the moving process, but for their own safety, we recommend that they stay with friends on moving day. If you would really like to expose them to the excitement and frenzy of the moving process, be prepared to ensure their safety.

13. What is the best way to prepare children for a move?
  You should discuss the move with your children frequently and what it means to them. If possible, visit the new community with your children before the move and get them use to the new surroundings. Above all, listen to what your children have to say, and keep communication open and honest.

14. I’m having difficulty arranging transportation on moving day. Can I ride in the cab with the moving truck?
  Unfortunately, most professional moving companies cannot transport customers for insurance reason.

15. I’m scaling down to a smaller home. I know my furniture will fit. Does that mean I’m all set?
  Unfortunately, possibly not. Many people overlook the space that smaller items such as photos, CD collections, clothes, etc. will take up. If in doubt, consult with an professional with evaluating space.
